Carpool Week starts today

Staff who carpool and log a trip this week during Carpool Week, February 6 to 12, could win one of three $500 VIA Rail travel vouchers. Learning opportunities

Staff can develop their foundation and leadership competencies through the following learning opportunities available in February: Coaching for Effectiveness, Improvement and Growth (February 15), Enhancing Work Satisfaction through Active Engagement (February 15), and Managing Labour Relations: Introduction (February 27). Survey – children’s recreation

The Children’s Recreation Program Quality Survey will be online throughout February aimed at households that participate in Toronto’s children’s recreation programs. Staff are encouraged to share the survey link: Survey

Pilot program for dispute mediation

The City is launching a mediation pilot program February 9 to assist with resolving disputes for minor variance and consent applications being considered by the Committee of Adjustment. The mediation sessions will be conducted by a neutral third party. Details

Museum & Heritage Services news

Weekends in February, Mackenzie House features the theme Black Victorians of Toronto. On February 9, Mackenzie House will present an evening of historic letters. On Saturday, February 11, Montgomery’s Inn and Gibson House will feature Valentine’s themes, while the Market Gallery and Heritage Toronto together host an archeology symposium at St. Lawrence Hall. Metro Hall’s parking ticket counter

Starting February 13, the Metro Hall parking ticket counter will be temporarily relocated to City Hall to allow for renovations at the Metro Hall location. Customers can visit the City Hall counter or another location to pay or dispute parking tickets in person. Payment can also be made onlineor by regular mail (address). The counter at Metro Hall is expected to reopen this spring or summer.
