Thank you for your support of the 2023 United Way Employee Campaign. Toronto Paramedic Services raised an impressive $53,024 last year! Your generosity helped the City of Toronto exceed its fundraising goal by raising $2,343,301 for the United Way of Greater Toronto.

Because of your outstanding efforts, Toronto Paramedic Services was recognized with the Outstanding Employee Engagement Award in the large Division category. Your generous contributions have and will continue to help make a positive difference in our communities.

A special thank you and congratulations to Divisional Ambassadors Sheryl Jackson, Lee Patterson, and Peter You, who were recognized with the Ambassador of the Year Award.

Thank you again for working together as “One City, One Team, One Campaign” in support of the United Way. You can learn more about the United Way, and the valuable work they do, on the intranet.

Communications Centre Re-accredited as IAED Centre of Excellence

2024-01-31 15:45:48 multimedia

We are proud to announce that Toronto Paramedic Services’ Communications Centre has been re-certified as an Accredited Centre of Excellence (ACE) by the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED) for the sixth consecutive time. The IAED is the standard-setting organization for emergency dispatch services worldwide.

Accreditation is a formal acknowledgment of the hard work and commitment from all Communications Centre staff in providing exceptional service to the community. The three-year accreditation process includes the comprehensive review of over 480 calls per month for compliance with IAED Performance Standards, which require dispatchers and call takers to achieve a high level of proficiency.

Centres that earn ACE status have demonstrated consistent performance, thorough quality assurance processes, and a commitment to data-driven continuous improvement.

On behalf of the entire Service, thank you to our Communications Centre staff for your dedication to our community – it is your work that has helped us achieve this success.

Congratulations on this outstanding recognition!

Sincerely,

Station Decorating Challenge

2023-12-19 08:12:37 multimedia

Today (December 18th, 2023)  I had the honour of joining members of the Senior team and our partners from TCEU Local 416, to judge the winning station from each district for the city-wide Holiday Station Decorating Challenge.

I want to take a moment to acknowledge the time, effort, and teamwork that everyone devoted to their station designs. It was incredibly touching to witness your collaborative creativity (and humour!) come to life. You have clearly displayed an impressive amount of holiday spirit and pride in your work.

I can say that for myself and for all the other judges, this was an incredibly difficult decision! Congratulations to 14 Station, which took home the top spot and will soon receive a trophy, generously donated by Local 416, to recognize their achievement.

A very big thank you to Superintendent Ilka Barniske for her dedication and commitment to leading this truly special event.

Please check out all the great photos below.

Happy Holidays!
Bik

Station Decorating
Vote on the best holiday-decorated station!!!

2023-12-12 09:48:02 multimedia

On December 11, judges from each district made the rounds to vote on the best holiday-decorated station. Paramedic staff showed their spirit by coming up with some creative ways to show their excitement for the holiday season. The judging teams, which consisted of Paramedic staff, union representatives, and members of senior management, had the honour of selecting the best decorated station (one per district). Congratulations to Stations 14, 23, 37, 57, 54, and 45! A basket of goodies and a congratulatory card was left at each winning station. Next Monday, December 18, the judges will decide which station claims the top contest spot!

Sudoku Challenge – Friday 7:30pm

2023-09-15 19:30:46 multimedia
Spoiler title

Sudoku is played on a grid of 9 x 9 spaces. Within the rows and columns are 9 “squares” (made up of 3 x 3 spaces). Each row, column and square (9 spaces each) needs to be filled out with the numbers 1-9, without repeating any numbers within the row, column or square. Does it sound complicated? A few spaces come already filled in; the more spaces filled in, the easier the game – the more difficult Sudoku puzzles have very few spaces that are already filled in. Please view the short video above to learn more about the rules of Sudoku.
