Daylight Saving Time – “Fall Back”
on Sunday, November 6, 2022

Please note that City of Toronto computers will automatically observe the end of Daylight Saving Time (“Fall Back”) at 02:00 hours on Sunday, November 6, 2022.

Staff who are off duty on non-productive time for their night shift will have 12 hours of non-productive time (e.g., ill, ill dependant, vacation, lieu, etc.) deducted from their bank as per normal practice.

Staff who are on duty should badge off as per normal practice. For any time beyond the end of shift (e.g., wash up, lock up and end-of-shift overtime), staff are reminded to call One Desk to have their book off time recorded manually on the Booking Sheets only if it is not accurately displayed on the Kronos InTouch clock.

Staff Working 14:00-02:00

  • All 14:00-02:00 staff finishing on time can follow the normal end-of-shift process.

Staff Working 18:00-06:00 and 19:00-07:00

  • Due to the clocks moving backward one hour at 02:00, staff working a night shift will work 13 hours and will be paid 12 hours of regular time and one (1) hour of overtime.

Payroll Adjustments

  • Payroll will add the one (1) hour of overtime to the timecards for staff working 18:00-06:00 and 19:00-07:00 as per the above.

If you have any questions, please contact Nita Pestana (416-392-2643) or Francine Cohen (416-397-4353) in Payroll.
