I am pleased to announce that Darcy Brebner is a successful candidate for the position of Commander, Operations. Darcy will have leadership responsibility for District 6, effective November 30, 2022.

Darcy graduated from the Algonquin College Paramedic Program in 1998 and began his Paramedic career as a Primary Care Paramedic in Ottawa’s Rural/Metro Ambulance Services.

In 2000, Darcy joined Toronto Paramedic Services as a Primary Care Paramedic, and worked in the southwest district of the city. During his time as a Paramedic, Darcy obtained Level 2 and Level 3 certification and worked in Special Operations as a member of the PSU and CBRNE teams.

In 2010, Darcy joined the leadership team as an Acting Superintendent in Operations. He also assumed leadership roles in Education & Development and the Community Paramedicine Program, where he was promoted to Superintendent in 2012.

Since that time, Darcy has held leadership positions as Acting Commander of Community Safeguard Services, Superintendent in the Health and Safety and Disability Management portfolios, and most recently as Administrative Superintendent in District 3 Operations.
