I am pleased to announce that effective November 30, 2022, Michael Grife will begin a temporary assignment as Commander, Policy, Projects & Process Improvement. In this role, Mike will provide strategic decision-making support for the Chief’s Office, manage issues arising from Standing Committees and City Council, and lead Divisional policy and program initiatives.

Mike joined Toronto Paramedic Services in 2001 as a Primary Care Paramedic. He became a Field Training Officer and spent time as part of the PCP Response Program, then joined the leadership team in 2013 as an Operations Superintendent. Mike worked in Districts 2 and 3 before beginning an assignment with the CASE team for the Pan Am and Parapan Am Games.

In 2015, Mike moved to Special Operations as the Team Lead for the Tactical Paramedic Program, Public Safety Unit, and Marine Paramedic Program. Michael also served in the role of Administrative Superintendent in Special Operations.

Mike was promoted to Commander of Special Operations in 2019. In that role he was instrumental in the development and implementation of the Sick Kids Acute Care Transport Service (ACTS) program, the first of its kind in Ontario. Mike has also served as a member of the Peer Resource Team since 2016.
