Fit2Sit Pilot – Etobicoke General and St. Joseph’s Hospital “GO LIVE

Fit2Sit Phase 2 launched on December 6, 2022, at the majority of our hospital partner sites. Beginning today (January 18, 2023), Etobicoke General and St. Joseph’s Hospital will both “GO LIVE” with the Fit2Sit Program.

Staff enrolling patients into the Fit2Sit Pilot Program are reminded of the following:

    • Fit2Sit is for patients who are being left in the main ED waiting room to Self-Triage.
    • A Fit2Sit Paramedic Report MUST be completed and the associated tracking number entered into the ePCR.

When documenting the call in your ePCR, Paramedics should ONLY select “Patient enrolled in Fit2Sit” if the patient has been offloaded to the main ED waiting room and a tracking number is entered in the ePCR.

When Paramedics provide a full triage report, there are two options:

  1. “Not enrolled but meets Fit2Sit Criteria”
    • Select this option if the patient(s) meets the criteria; however the Paramedic believes it is not appropriate to offload to the main ED waiting room. Paramedics shall document the reason for why the patient was not enrolled.
  2. “Patient not enrolled in Fit2Sit”
    • Paramedics shall select this option if their patient falls outside of the inclusion criteria or has a pertinent negative including CTAS 1, 2A & 2B.

At this time Toronto Paramedic Services continues to audit documentation for patients who have been enrolled in Fit2Sit to ensure patient safety and compliance with the pilot program parameters.

Thank you for your ongoing dedication, resilience and teamwork as we continue to do everything we can to protect our communities.

Sincerely,
