Following an extensive internal and external recruitment process, I am pleased to announce that Bikram Chawla has been appointed as the Chief & General Manager of Toronto Paramedic Services.

Bik has been with Toronto Paramedic Services for more than 33 years, beginning his career as a Paramedic in 1990. In that time, Bik has established himself as an exceptional leader and changemaker in the Service, taking on increasingly more senior roles including, Deputy Chief, Program Development and Service Quality, Commander Policy, Projects & Process Improvement, Deputy Commander, as well as acting leadership assignments with Social Development & Finance Administration and Municipal Licensing & Standards.

Bik has served as the Interim Chief & General Manager of Toronto Paramedic Services for the past nine months. During this time, he has time and again demonstrated his strategic and caring leadership and his ability to foster positive change.
