Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccinations for All Staff: Update #1

Yesterday, the City released a Mandatory Vaccination Policy which requires proof of vaccination against COVID-19 from all staff. This policy aligns with our previous communication regarding Ontario Chief Medical Officer of Health Directive #6. The City of Toronto policy states that all employees must disclose their vaccination status by September 13, 2021 (an extension from the previous date).

The policy requires employees who are not fully vaccinated or who do not disclose their status by the deadline to attend mandatory education on the benefits of vaccination. Following the education session, employees will then be required to receive one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by September 30, and two doses by October 30, 2021.

As always, an employee who is not able to obtain a COVID-19 vaccine for a reason related to a protected ground set out in the Human Rights and Anti-Harassment/ Discrimination Policy can request accommodation using the process set out in the City’s Accommodation Policy.

Proof of vaccination status can be securely uploaded by scanning the QR code (right) or by visiting s.cotsurvey.chkmkt.com/psdocumentation. Staff
can also submit documentation to emsdocumentation@toronto.ca (please ensure that both name and employee number are included in the email). You can access a copy of your vaccination record at covid19.ontariohealth.ca/.

Vaccination is a key part of the fight against COVID-19 and this policy is an important part of protecting each other and our patients. If you have any questions, please review the FAQs from the City or, if would like more information on how to obtain your COVID-19 vaccine, please contact the SSC (416-338-2700 or SSC@toronto.ca).

Thank you for your commitment to keeping each other and our patients safe.

Sincerely,
