Q2. What if I can’t access my account on the Paramedic Portal of Ontario (PPO)?
A2. When the new PPO launched on February 18, 2020, existing user names were carried over, but passwords were not. If you have not accessed the PPO since February, you will be required to change your password (see image below). You will receive a link in your email (typically your@toronto.ca email) to reset your password. Please check your spam/ junk mail folder if the link does not appear in your inbox.

If you have any issues accessing the portal, please contact the Base Hospital:Email: paramedic.portal@sunnybrook.ca      Tel: 416-667-2200, ext. 213, option 1

Q3. Once I am logged onto the PPO, how do I find the correct CME course?
A3. Once you have logged onto the PPO, click on the Transcript icon (as shown below). On the transcript page, locate the course entitled ‘SRBH 2020 Mandatory CME Toronto’. You will need to complete both the ‘SRBH 2020 CME eLearning Course’ and ‘Toronto Specific CME Addition for 2020’ courses.

Q4. Is ALL of the content mandatory?
A4. Yes. In order to avoid administrative deactivation, Paramedics must complete ALL eLearning content. Once you complete the first three modules of the ‘SRBH 2020 CME eLearning Course’, the remaining modules will become accessible.

Q5. Does the PPO save my progress in the CME presentations if I close it/log out, or do I have to start over again?
A5. The modules are designed to be between 30 and 60 minutes in length, and will save your progress as you move through them. All completed modules will be marked complete.

Q6. How will I know when I have completed the ‘SRBH 2020 Mandatory CME Toronto’ Courses?
A6. For the ‘SRBH 2020 CME eLearning Course’ you will see a list of all modules that require completion under the ‘Course Completion Sign-Off’ section. Once all of the required modules are completed, a label titled: “Once all criteria have been completed click the box to the Right to finish the course” will appear (as shown below). Click the box to confirm your completion of the 2020 CME.

For the Toronto Specific CME Addition For 2020 course, all checkboxes must be checked in order for your status to show complete.

If you have completed all content and your course transcript is still showing incomplete, please wait approximately 10 minutes and refresh the page. If the course is still not showing as completed after 30 minutes, please check both courses to ensure all content has been completed. If the problem persists, please contact the Base Hospital using the contact information above.

Q7. Once I have completed both CME courses, what do I need to be submit to TPS Education and Development?
A7. There are two documents that must be submitted by November 20, 2020:

  1. The Influenza Immunization Declaration form; and,
  2. The Compensation/Completion form.

You may submit your forms electronically by following the directions below. Paper copies of these documents may be submitted through your Superintendent.

*** You only need to submit your forms once using one of these two methods***
