City of Toronto 2023 United Way Employee Campaign – Update #3

The City of Toronto’s 2023 United Way Employee Campaign is off to a great start with many exciting events on the way. For more information about the City’s campaign, please visit the intranet.

UNITED WAY CASH Raffle starts November 07, 2023. The CASH Raffle draw date is December 07, 2023 @ 1430 hrs at 100 Queen St W.

 First prize: $3,000
Second prize: $2,000
Third prize: $1,500
Fourth prize: $1,000
Fifth prize: $500

CASH Raffle tickets are now on sale for $2 per card, and are available through our divisional reps Peter You, Sheryl Jackson, and Lee Patterson.

Bingo number draws have started and they can be found on the United Way Bingo page.

2023 Food and Clothing Donation Drive

On November 1, 2023, Toronto Paramedic Services launched the 2023 Colleagues Assisting in Providing Essentials (CAPE) Annual Food and Clothing Donation Drive, in partnership with over 40 divisions and agencies within the City of Toronto.

Donations will benefit charitable agencies, including the Daily Bread Food Bank and Shelter, Support & Housing Administration clients in need of winter clothing and food.

The following items may be placed in donation boxes located at Emergency Services Headquarters, Service District Hubs, and the Rubes Centre (Eastern Ave):

  • Winter outerwear for children and adults (coats, snowsuits),
  • Winter accessories including hats, gloves, scarves and warm socks,
  • Non-perishable food items.

Potential winners who complete a full card must contact the City of Toronto United Way staff via email (Maricar.Polintan@toronto.ca) within three (3) business days from the date the winning number is drawn. Prizes will be awarded based on the day the winning number is drawn.

  1. Winners will be the first person(s) to complete a full card. All numbers on the card must have been drawn and verified.
  2. Players with full card claims must contact Maricar Polintan at Maricar.Polintan@toronto.ca within three (3) business days. After the fourth day without an email, the card will be disqualified.
  3. The game continues until all three (3) prizes are awarded.

There’s still time to enrol in automatic payroll deductions for 2023. These regular contributions provide a sustainable source of funding for the United Way and its member agencies. To those who are already supporting the United Way through payroll deductions, thank you.

How to Donate

There are many ways to make a United Way donation this year, including:

  • The UnitedWay@work – personalized donation link,
  • Credit card purchase using the secure “United Way” app accessed from a City workstation or City-issued mobile device, or
  • Fill out the UW eFillable Donor Form (attached).
