Toronto Fire Services (TFS) recently introduced the Aquesure Filter Humidifier with Red Sampling Port (Figure 1), a different style of Bag-Valve-Mask (BVM) filter.

The filter’s distinctive red sampling port cap has been noted to have become dislodged, open, or gone missing on occasion.

If you encounter this filter during patient care, please ensure the red sampling cap is in place and secured. Additionally, all staff are reminded to use appropriate personal protective equipment when performing aerosol generating medical procedures (AGMPs).
