April 14 to 20 is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week 2024. It is a week to recognize and celebrate our dedicated and skilled emergency telecommunicators, communications support and leadership staff.

As the “first, first responders”, Toronto Paramedic Services’ Communications team is made up of Emergency Medical Call Takers and Dispatchers, Communications Training Officers, Senior EMDs, information technology professionals, support, and leadership staff. Each team member plays an important role in caring for our communities and those who need us.

On Monday, April 15, from 10:30-12:30, Toronto Police will host the Tri-Service Telecommunicators Awards where we will recognize our Telecommunicators of the Year, alongside Toronto Police and Toronto Fire Services.

On Tuesday, April 16, from 14:00-16:00, we will recognize the outstanding achievements of our staff who will receive their individual Accredited Centre of Excellence (ACE) Achievement certificates at an internal award ceremony.
